2012 Cancer Horoscope

Soul nourishment

by Jeff Jawer and Rick Levine

2012 Cancer Horoscope

Friends and colleagues bring an abundance of connections your way in the first half of the year with fortunate Jupiter in your 11th House of Groups until June 11. Having the support of others and aligning yourself with a cause you believe in provide a strong foundation for growth throughout 2012. No matter how idealistic the individual or organization, it's essential that you put practical considerations first. Taking on obligations when you're unclear on goals and procedures can be demanding and exhausting. Steady progress within a solid structure will get you further than brilliant ideas built on mere hopes and wishes.

On June 11, Jupiter skips into flexible Gemini and your spiritual 12th House of Contemplation, where it will cast light on life's deepest mysteries until June 25, 2013. There is a wealth of soul-nourishing information available to you if you're willing to open up your mind and explore alternative belief systems. The truths you find most meaningful may not come in one integrated package but as bits and pieces from a variety of sources. Observing the world and your own thoughts without making judgments is a powerful way to enhance your learning and expand your mind.

Expect waves of inspiration and awareness to head your way when imaginative Neptune enters Pisces and your 9th House of Higher Thought on Feb. 3. This transit initiates a period of discovery that encourages you to broaden your perspective by pursuing travel and educational opportunities. If you're touched by the teacher or the subject matter, your soul will grow as much as your mind. But if you're simply striving to polish your resume, you may be worn out by the struggle. Studying harder won't produce the results that finding meaning and purpose in your educational pursuit will provide. When you really care about the subject, you will absorb information easily. A challenging square between Jupiter and Neptune on June 25 can mark a period of overexpansion when your appetite for travel, learning, or religious experiences is greater than your capacity to absorb it. It's terrific to be enthusiastic about broadening your horizons, yet avoid spreading yourself so thin that the costs exceed the benefits.

Saturn, the planet that lays down the law, dictates that keeping order on the home front is vital for you this year. Saturn in Libra occupies your 4th House of Security until Oct. 5, signaling the need for harmony in your surroundings. You may need to make peace with cohabitants and create a more attractive environment if you hope to establish a constructive atmosphere. Compromising with relatives isn't always easy, but with patience and maturity you should find ways to overcome any significant differences. This is also a year when thoughts of starting a new business or a different career could be appealing. Yet if you spend all of your time trying to make your mark in the world, your foundation may become shaky. Don't lose sight of the importance of maintaining a happy home life that will support your ambitions.
