The holiday season is usually a time when career-oriented decisions take a back seat to family events. This may well be the story for you even if you're not occupied with travel or out-of-town guests. The key astrological reasons are that two dynamic planets are moving into the sleepiest part of your chart.
Mars, representing initiative and innovation, slips into your 12th House of Behind-the-Scenes activities on December 7. This tends to take you out of the spotlight and make you somewhat reluctant to take on any new challenges. It is good, though, for working in a supportive role where you can earn the respect and trust of colleagues and clients. Putting others first now is an excellent way to gain long-term support. There can, though, be some quiet conflict as gossip and behind the back conversations are where and how discontent are expressed. Obviously, it's wise not to get caught up in office intrigues where you're involved in others' secrets.
On December 21 the Sun enters Capricorn and your 12th house, reinforcing the need for discretion and underlining your desire to stay out of the spotlight. Of course, if you do want recognition during these transits, you may have to push harder to get it. Hopefully, though, you'll be happy without getting too much attention as you can use the relative peace and quiet to take a longer-term view of your career. When you're willing to operate with a strategic perspective and act with patience and caution you may be creating a launching pad for further growth next year.
