So you wanna be famous? Luckily, the advent of reality television and the Internet means that anyone with talent -- or in many cases no talent -- can catapult their way into at least 15 minutes of fame. Right now is an especially great time to explore your options for fame as the Sun flares through dramatic Leo!
Find out what your horoscope sign is most likely to get recognized for, and then you can start plotting how to extend those minutes into a lifetime of fame and fortune.
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Rams love to be active, and they really love competition, so these folks are likely to excel in sports. Take a look at Aries Maria Sharapova -- not only does she have a US Open and Australian Open under belt, she also took Wimbledon, and Serena Williams, at the tender age of 17. People born under this sign play hard and play to win, and it usually pays off for them in the end.
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Bulls embody a sophistication and charm that makes them perfect movie stars. They're more than just actors -- think old Hollywood glamour. Both Katharine and Audrey Hepburn were born under this sign, as were Tinseltown royalty George Clooney and Cate Blanchett. A little known fact about Taurus -- male or female, these folks can rock a fedora like nobody's business.
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Chatty Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the communication planet. These folks love conversation that stimulates the intellect, which makes them perfect talk show hosts, like one-time daytime diva Jenny Jones. The ever-changing guest line-up means this restless sign will never get bored, and they'll always have a new topic to discuss ... they just have to make sure they give their guests a chance to talk!
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Like the acid-tongued Anthony Bourdain and affable Wolfgang Puck, Crabs are made for celebrity chefdom. The ultimate foodies, they are eager to search the globe for culinary treasures, and even more eager to share their bounty once they return. It's their passion for eating and feeding others that elevates them from chefs in commercial kitchens to household names.
Leo (July 23 - Aug. 22)
This horoscope sign craves fame more than any other, and they're too impatient to wait for that big break. Reality television is a quick way to get recognized, and once these folks get their first 15 minutes, they have an uncanny ability to extend it for as long as they can. Look at "America's Next Top Model" contestant (and Leo) Adrienne Curry -- she won the first cycle of the show, used that to land a spot on "The Surreal Life," where she met a Brady, married him and then starred in another reality show based on the marriage.
Virgo (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)
You probably know a lot of famous Virgos by name, but wouldn't recognize them if you tripped over them. These folks are natural wordsmiths, so writing comes naturally to them. Agatha Christie, Upton Sinclair, H.G. Wells and William Carlos Williams were all Virgos. So is Stephen King, but he's more recognizable due to casting himself in all his movies -- must be that Leo in his 1st house.
Libra (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22)
These folks have an artistic eye and they excel at making people feel comfortable, so they could easily find fame in capturing the human form, either through photography, painting or sculpture. Look at famed Libran photographer Annie Leibovitz -- there isn't a celebrity she hasn't done a shoot with. A word to aspiring Libra artists, though ... stay away from underage subjects like Hannah Montana.
Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 21)
This horoscope sign doesn't typically seek fame -- they're too private for that. Some of their darker Scorpion impulses can lead them to infamy, though. Scorpio Winona Ryder is more famous for shoplifting than for acting these days. Howard Dean is more well-known for a public outburst than for having been a presidential candidate. Remember figure skating villain Tonya Harding? Also a Scorpio.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21)
These folks naturally have a great sense of humor, perfect comic timing, and a knack for physical comedy. They learn the value of a good joke early in life, and make great comics later on, whether they opt for the stage or the screen. They also tend to be provocative with their comedy, like Sagittarians Sarah Silverman and "The Daily Show's" Jon Stewart. They innately know how to get an audience's attention and most importantly ... how to keep it.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)
Goats are the most ambitious folk in the zodiac, so they're suited to a life in politics. They don't mind the drudgery and ugliness of campaigning, either -- this sign can deal with unpleasantness if they know it's going to pay off in the end. And for them, it usually does. Just ask Andrew Johnson, Woodrow Wilson, Millard Fillmore and Richard Nixon.
Aquarius (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18)
Aquarians tend to become famous more for who they are than for what they do. Eccentric by nature, they draw people in and maintain their interest. Just take a look at famous Aquarians Paris Hilton or Yoko Ono -- you might not be able to list their accomplishments, but you'd definitely recognize them in a crowded room, and you probably know what they've been up to lately, like it or not.
Pisces (Feb. 19 - March 20)
Fishes feel emotions very deeply, and as musicians, they create songs that resonate with their audience. The downside is that they're prone to excess and escapism, so the lifestyle associated with the music industry can be their downfall. A perfect example of what can go so wrong and so right with Pisces is Kurt Cobain -- this Fish was the voice of a generation, but his demons were his undoing.
