I think we are all born Karmic Defenders. It takes years for us to "unlearn" the principles of treating each other with kindness and respect. Jesus told us to turn the other cheek and Native American beliefs ask us to walk a mile in another's moccasins but we learn to be selfish and to think of ourselves as number 1 while organized religion often condemns as sinners any whose beliefs are not aligned with theirs (even branches of their own denominations). Each one of us has the power to accept, even if we don't believe, in other spiritual practices. Positive karmic action can vaccinate us against the diseases of bigotry and suspicion.
