My Daily Defender Profile
Horoscope signs: Aries Sun, Gemini Moon, Cancer Rising
Numerology Life Path number: 5
How I got into writing and reporting: Well first off, let me say I didn't really "get into" writing, writing actually "got into" me. I was given a natural affinity toward all forms of words and writing, and I must admit grammar is a bit of an obsession (and "a bit" is, well, a bit of an understatement). I've always had quite a dualistic nature (thank you, Gemini Moon!), with a passion for numbers and science early on, developing into a deep interest in art and creativity in my adult life. So I enjoy bridging this gap between left- and right-brained thinking, and I find the best avenues for this are through writing and visual art.
How I got into Astrology: I'd always found Astrology to be an interesting topic -- I owned a couple popular books on the subject, I knew my Sun sign was Aries and I'd read my daily horoscope for fun ... however, being immersed in Astrology through dailyhoroscope.com, my expertise has expanded incredibly over the past few years. An understanding of my own birth chart and the effects of what's currently happening in the skies offers an open perspective on the people and the world around me.
How I decide what to write about each day: My writing is Numerology-focused, so I always keep my eyes open to the numbers around me. From interesting dates to strange recurring digits to numbers in the news, I'm always on the lookout for an opportunity to decode how this world adds up!
Some articles I've written:
Chinese vs. Western Numerology
New Year's Day Numerology: 1/1/2011
All U.S. Presidents Aren't Actually Leos!
The best part of my job is: Not only do I get to work with an amazing group of open-minded, creative and inspiring individuals during my time in the office, but I get to work with an even larger group of inspiring and insightful people through our Twitter and Facebook pages -- our enthusiastic members provide new perspectives and enlightening questions that keep our astrological gears turning.
Sites I love:
Karmic weakness: I really don't fall prey to any of the Top 10 Karmic Laws ... except for one. "#8 Give it a Rest" is just not in my vocabulary (once again, that Gemini Moon!). Even though I'm not constantly tweeting and updating and posting every second of the day ... I know that my friends are ... and I'm sticking close to my computer to keep up on the latest. At times I must remind myself to step away -- 99% of this information isn't really all that important in the first place, and if it is ... it'll still be there when I come back!
My current karmic dilemma: I am currently free of karmic dilemmas! My goal is to approach each day with positivity, compassion and a strong sense of self ... I find that living my life with this mindset is the best way to tackle karmic dilemmas before they even arise.
