Love grows more tender this month as Venus, the planet of amour, enters watery Cancer on July 3. We probably will lose some objectivity about relationships but can gain a greater degree of sensitivity in return. Feelings may be wounded more easily as the mildest slights can seem like brutal attacks even when no harm is intended.
Yet, in this delicate atmosphere the possibilities for intimacy increase. We recognize our needs to be held and cared for. We’re not looking for the highest levels of excitement because safety and security become more desirable than risky romances with unreliable individuals.
A taste for familiar faces and places stirs up nostalgic feelings, perhaps leading some to dream about about an ex-lover who got away. Venus’ harmonious 120-degree trine with imaginative Neptune on July 5 can create illusions about relationships that may inspire hearts and souls but which may not reflect reality. If reason is lost in a dreamland of escapism, we won’t be floating on the clouds for very long.
Venus slams into a stressful square with unpredictable Uranus on July 7 and opposes penetrating Pluto on July 8, puncturing any balloons of illusion. Even stable individuals and alliances could be shaken during these disruptive days. But if we stay reasonably calm we can find meaning and understand what all the sudden shifts are about. Gigantic Jupiter in practical Taurus forms a favorable 60-degree sextile with Venus on July 8 that helps to explain recent upheavals and get us back on a calmer track.
