The road to romance is a wild one this month. We may have the illusion of smoothness at first with amorous Venus in neat and tidy Virgo until September 14. While we may sweat some small stuff and be a little pickier than usual, the modesty of Venus in this sign doesn't raise expectations so high that we risk the danger of a dramatic fall. Also, mental Mercury's opposition to dreamy Neptune on September 8 can sustain confusion or illusion that makes it hard to see the relationship picture very clearly.
On September 14, Venus enters her airy home sign Libra, where peace, harmony and partnership are celebrated. Normally, this would be an enticing invitation to sweet partnering with the one we're with or, perhaps, with someone new. However, the usually polite and pretty ways of Venus in Libra are powerfully disturbed by tense planetary patterns with explosive Uranus on September 17 and punishing Pluto on September 18. Keeping cool during these volatile times is not easy since steam needs to be blown off before we can put our feet back on solid ground. Breakthroughs, breakdowns, discoveries and disruptions can be terrifying and exciting, but are unlikely to be dull.
The Sun's move into placid Libra on September 23 repeats this contrasting theme with harsh solar aspects to Uranus and Pluto on September 25 and 28. Facing a new reality is likely when the dust clears and Venus joins serious Saturn on September 29, letting us know where we stand.
