Uranus Square Pluto: Crisis in Consciousness

Tue, 07/19/2011 - 11:54 am PST by Jeff Jawer

The debt limit debate in the United States continues to shake faith in the future of the economy. While politicians parlay and posture, the rest of us watch from the sidelines wondering what any of this has to do with the state of our reality. The drama surrounding the subject fits all too well with the approaching Uranus-Pluto square that’s exact next year. This stressful relationship between the planets of radical change and hanging on for dear life indicates that humanity (not just the economy or U.S. government) is standing at the edge of a historical shift.

This process really began when the opposition of orderly Saturn and Uranus appeared with the housing/insurance/banking crisis of 2008. Whether the decisions made then averted disaster or simply delayed it is still to be seen and, perhaps, these moves were like a puppet’s shadow play in which the real hands at work were hidden from view. The fact is that the manufacturing base of the U.S. economy has been eroding for years and that educational standards have been slipping since the 1980s. The consumerist society that gobbles up resources and produces enormous waste is unsustainable. The growing purchasing power of hundreds of millions in China and India are enhancing lives of individuals but increasing the rate of environmental degradation.

There is, however, good news in the midst of our materialist mire. It is that Uranus and Pluto represent the potential for a radical awakening of consciousness, which is where to real power of change lies. The emotional earthquakes of economic insecurity cause many people to hunker down and close their minds to the future. Fundamentalist religion and politics represent retreats to inflexible old beliefs that provide a false sense of certainty in uncertain times. Yet the ticking hands of time and the turning wheels of the planets never go backwards. No matter how much we idealize imaginary days of old, humanity’s task is to reinvent itself and redefine its purpose going forward rather than looking back.

Evolving out of the old forms of national and religious boundaries may seem like an impossible dream. How can we replace the current economic system without war and starvation? How can we find salvation without the old faiths that have brought us this far? The answers don’t come in finished form, bound in volumes of immutable wisdom to guide us into the future. They come as individuals choose to free themselves from the ignorance of habit and the blindness of fear. New truths can arise with a single insight that unhooks us from unconscious patterns that keep us in the dark. Individual awareness accumulates until collective consciousness evolves so the power lies within each of us to change our minds and, thus, to change the world.

You're right it may seem an impossible dream, but there are more people fighting for this global awakening. The battle is not just getting people to fight for humanity, but getting them to realize love is more important than material item, and that it is the key to finding a true reality.

Sides have been chosen ,lines have been drawn ..political posturing and deception is rife yes I agree, however the Saturnalian runaway trains of western finance, and religious fanatisism will collide in a Plutonian cataclysm, around the time of the full planetary alignment ,I expect the complete cocophany of chaos to come to a cresendo on or before this time...

"we are all related" is a common theme that reverberates through many Native American cultures. Even as the Natives ensured their doom, they non the less helped the pilgrims through a rough winter that might have changed their minds about staying in the new world. As a result of their humanitarian efforts the following genocide of the Native American, if not just their way of life, was well underway. The conventional structure had arrived in the New World and the Natives embraced the peoples, while having no understanding of their values. That conventional structure has been alive and well for a couple of centuries here and for time out of mind in European mindset.
There is something to be said for the cultures that existed in North America before it was discovered by Cristobal Columbus. These North American cultures were not fear based, they lived in harmony with the earth mother, considered themselves stewards of the land for their progeny. Of course there were differences and disagreements between different nations of Natives, they had wars, skirmishes and took life and members of other tribes as slaves it was not a perfect society. What was absent was a centralized fear; a fear of some wrathful god, a fear of not enough to provide for your families, a central government bent on making fear mongering a top priority, by telling the peoples who the boogie man was. the conventional structure we experience is a carry over from the old world. It is not the structure that was all but destroyed as this nation was built.
In the destruction of the Native Cultures, which had to be destroyed because of the fear factor, our ancestors in their ignorance destroyed what they did not comprehend and feared. After all these were savages, ignorant, pagan and not the peoples "Manifest Destiny" was instituted to promote.
All of that aside what we lost in Native American wisdom, their reverence for nature and the land and those species that inhabited it. their understanding of the healing powers of the natural world and their relationship to it. We as a culture and society have had the notion that nature is something to be lorded over, to be exploited and used for the taking. We as a nation have exploited all this land has to offer and carried our exploits globally to some Nations who have welcomed our values and to many who were and are at odds with our values. One can see the effects of this mindset on the planet and it's ability to sustain life, we are now seeing that this unsustainable value system is breaking down the very fabric that supports humanities existence and the possibilities for it's continued existence. Ninety nine percent of all the species that have existed in this planets four billion life cycle are now extinct. How many of that ninety nine have gone since the industrial revolution? On the curve of extinction what there a blip in the last few centuries? Are there indicators that the last one percent, humanity included, is about to join their predecessors in the extinction curve?
There is no doubt something coming is it a tragic cataclysmic end to all we know? As the knowledge is worthless if there is no one to share it with. Yet what have we done with what we know? Are we moving in a direction that would begin to understand the balance required to sustain us or are we trapped in the conventional structure, a captive of the spell of matter?
The wisdom of the Natives was perhaps not lost, energy cannot be created or destroyed. the vessels that carry it are fragile beings and easily eliminated, but the energy remains. If the vessel is broken the energy is released to be absorbed by the earth mother, to become part of her system, in her lakes and rivers one might hear the ancient wisdom, in the produce from her rich soil one might ingest fragments of the wisdom. In the breeze on your face you might feel a certain, but unnamed feeling or emotion. Your heart might swell at the magnificence of a sunrise or sunset. Children playing on her fields and in her forests might well absorb some yet unidentified understanding at the core of their being. "We are all related" might eclipse the famous shot heard around the world and become the "resonance" we feel in the sunset, the night sky, aurora borealis, even the astrological constellations that watch over us. Somehow I feel something I do not yet understand when I look to see Orion ever watching over us all...

Greetings fellow travelers and the view from standing on the brink is so awesome. Take heart friends, which we are all, recognizing it is another matter. The fifties were a time of relative peace and prosperity, the boomers came from that consciousnesses. I woke up in the sixties to find a world of natural wonderment, yet I was still trapped in the spell of matter. That time period helped me realize I was in this world not of it, we are billion year old stardust and the brink is the dawning of the age of Aquarius. It remains a great song, however it takes more than the three minute song to make the transition. We are in the throws of birth, the contractions are getting closer and closer together. There is no need for fear, those who live in fear will be the most impacted by this new star child's arrival. We are tasked with the midwifery and wet nurse duties in birthing this new age, while remembering it is a child, that we are in effect dealing with. The child in question is the seed of the sixties coming to fruition in the hearts and minds of those who no doubt will be bewildered and afraid. Those who think they are in power will see a power manifest in the peoples of this star, that they will have no control over. No doubt power concedes nothing without a demand, yet this birth will not make demands or give commands it will simply shine like the human spirit has over the millennium, there have a few who have shown the way, those few who came here and have shared a glimpse of who we can be, and they scared the status quo, frightened the powerful and most of all gave humanity hope. It is a time of letting go of those support systems that clearly no longer serve us, and we must be ready to stand alone, like the child at birth, whose only support system is those around him/her. The institutions of today or yesterday is not who we are, they are firmly trapped in the spell of matter, and will tell you exactly what you need to do to validate them, not vice versa. There is no salvation in any of them, for no one needs saving from anything. We are experiential in nature and human beings, who shine so brightly, from the core of our being. Take a deep breath, remove the shades, and take in a view that will literally take your breath away. When one of us makes a change we in effect change the world. As the fear dissolves and we embrace illumination. Janis Joplin said it nicely in the words of Summertime, "one of these mornings, you're gonna rise up singing, ya gonna spread your wings and child take to the sky, until that morning nothings gonna harm you child..."

I'm not going to lie: CHANGING THE CONVENTIONAL STRUCTURE IS SCARY! Yet, I see the need to do so is vital. Personally, convention has not worked out for me as neatly as I expected and/or idealized. I know it's time to do/try something else, but my Taurus (needing a platform) finds it hard to do!!
