Well, let's see...this retrograde the USPS has managed to lose a package of mine, both of my vehicles broke down (one rather spectacularly, I might add) and my computer power supply has failed. Nice.....

As I was nearing this retrograde season life had already been teasing me with lost contracts and bad job timing situations. I decided that this retrograde would have the opposite effect; I was wrong. The air conditioner on my daughter's car went out, my starter went bad and while I was showering before a job interview my plumbing sprung a large leak. I was turned down for mortgage refinancing and the lettuce in my garden wilted after a 38F evening. I may stay in the house until the 27th of August and slowly test the waters until the full moon.

My daughter had been complaining for weeks that the ice from our refrigerator's icemaker tasted like dirt. After thinking about it, I realized we needed to change the filter, so I went to an online site, entered the make, model and serial number of the fridge, and did a search for the part. The site found a result, which I ordered. In a week it had arrived, but I was afriad doing the work would be hard so I waited. I eventually found a video online that showed it was really easy, so I set about it. By then I had recycled the shipping box and invoice, of course. I took the old filter off and prepared to put in the new one. To my dismay, I found the new part was the wrong part - too large in diameter! I called Lowe's to see if they carry the right part; they do, for $40. I finally found that Amazon.com carries them much more cheaply, so I was able to order the right part, but I'm stuck with the wrong part.

Oh gosh, where do I start?! I consciously made every effort to communicate clearly when I learned of Mercury going retrograde, esp since I had several conundrums occuring in different areas of my life. But no matter what I did, the communication wires insisted on becoming crossed, twisted, broken -you name it! Betw hubby and I, betw son and I, betw son and hubby and I, betw son and gf, betw hubby and I and son's gf, and so on...eventually I decided just to keep my mouth shut and let it pass, lol. Things have since quieted down, somewhat.....going incommunicado next time...

My best Mercury Retrograde moment this time around was(is) the clients I have been getting lately. I do massage and it seems like every single one of them are late, then they don't really know what they want or they ramble on some sort of crazy story while the treatment is in process. Needless to say, this is showing me how to be better with patience.
Another is my boyfriend and I are using this time to communicate our needs to each other better. If we can do it now it will be easier when the retro period is over.
We all may get frustrated with all of this, but it definitely has made the past few weeks exciting to say the least :)

My best Mercury Retrograde moment was when I got to look back at all of my relationships and figure out which ones were holding Me back from living my making; I severed those ties, and now I am happy to announce that I am finally being true to my Self!

It gets even worse. I moved to Seattle from Phoenix at the end of July. It turns out my final check of unused vacation pay was slashed by 2/3 after the idiots at HR got through passing it through the highest tax bracket they could find for me. And then I found the job they'd offered me out here is being downgraded, with lower pay and hours--and they're interviewing other candidates for it as well. Now all I need to hear is that my friends want me to move out by the end of the month, and I will truly be screwed.

I must repeat myself: Shoot me. Surgery coming up in two weeks. Swollen glands from seasonal allergies, not to mention a horrid allergic reaction to a new facial cleanser. Twisted ankle this morning. Icing on the cake: I have had to reboot my computer every five minutes for a month because Internet Explorer cannot display the friggin' webpage, and today, Yahoo signs me out each time I leave my computer. Shoot me. Now.

On Monday, Aug 8, I was on the freeway headed to a 10:00 am appt with a realtor to look at a house in a nearby community. As usual, I had plugged the address into my gps. But it soon seemed apparent that my gps was giving me some screwy directions,. After driving for 20 minutes in the wrong direction, and realizing I was now probably going to be late, I reached for my cell phone to call the realtor only to find that my cell phone was completely dead. I turned around and had to drive 20 more minutes to get back to "civilization" & find a gas station which might have a phone. When I located one, it was on the opposite side of the street w/a center median & no place to turn into it. Thinking to continue another block & make a u turn, I discovered "No U-Turn" signs for the next 2 miles. After another 20 minutes of driving I finally got to the gas station only to be told they had no phone I could use.

As luck would have it, a middle aged Mexican man walked up & graciously offered the use of his cell phone. And I eventually arrived at my destination about 40 minutes late.

Later, in telling this story to a friend, she relayed a similar story that happened to her in the same week: being late for something, not having her cell phone w/her, and stopping at a grocery store w/a pay phone on the outside of the building, only to find it not working. A middle aged Mexican man walked up, inquired if she needed a phone & offered her his.

Then my friend relayed a second story that had happened to HER friend that same week: The friend was biking, and as usual when biking, carried her cell phone in a plastic baggie in her pocket. She made a pit stop at a port-a-potty, and while inside, her cell phone fell out of her pocket into the potty! Since the phone was sealed in a baggie, she was determined to rescue it. "With her hands?!!" I asked my friend. "I guess," she replied. Anyway, the biker stumbled out of the port-0-potty in a gagging fit, only to meet (you guessed it) a Mexican man who asked her if she was ok. When the woman told him what had happened... well, you know the rest. He offered her the use of his cell phone.

My friend & I decided there was ONE Magical Mexican man who appears to ladies in cell phone distress. What a super hero for those Mercury Madness days!

Even though this sounds too bizarre to be true, I swear it is!
