Tattoos for Every Sign

The Astrology of getting inked

Libra (Sept 23 - Oct 22)

Elegant Libra needs a tattoo that conveys grace and distinction. Flowers are always a good choice for this you Librans: Roses, daisies and bluebells are the blooms associated with Libra. You justice-lovers may also prefer a picture of the scales, or Atalanta, the Greek mythological figure representing balance. People born in late September and the first three weeks of October are passionately fond of music, so a tattoo of your favorite instrument would be fitting. Apples come to fruition during Libra's season, and would make a good choice for a tattoo. Pastel colors should predominate in a Libran tattoo.

Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 21)

Mysterious Scorpio has a penchant for tribal tattoos. Symbols of resurrection resonate with Scorpions, so a picture of a phoenix rising from the ashes would be appropriate. Scorpio is also the sign of transformation, so a tattoo of a butterfly might suit. You creatures of the night might also favor witches, goblins, gargoyles, werewolves and vampires, so any of these fit. Bloody thorns and vines represent Scorpio's desire to entrap and enfold their lovers. Hades, the Greek god of the dead, is another good choice for Scorpio. The color black will probably predominate in this sign's body ink.

Sagittarius (Nov 22 - Dec 21)

Sagittarius is the ultimate animal lover, so a tattoo of a horse or dog might be a good choice for you Sags. The Archer is symbolized by the Centaur, so an image of this creature is also favored. Sagittarius loves higher learning, so your alma mater's logo is a good choice. Zeus, the Greek god, is often linked with Sagittarius and would be a good image to incorporate. Being quite spiritual, symbols of your religion are often chosen for body ink. With a love for travel, an image of a globe or a flag from your favorite destination would be appropriate. Orange should be the main color in a Sagittarian tattoo.

Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 19)

Imposing Capricorns merit a tattoo that makes people sit up and take notice of your natural-born authority. A pyramid, skeleton or mountain are all fitting images for you Goats, as they convey strong foundations. Capricorn is also associated with pine trees, thanks to their dynamic upward movement. Of course, the sign of the Goat might find this animal appropriate as body ink, and Chronos, the Greek god of time, is often associated with Capricorn. The pansy is the flower linked with the Goat, so a cluster of these bright blossoms would work well as a tattoo. The color brown should predominate in this earth sign's body art.

Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18)

Radical Aquarius will probably choose a unique tattoo -- a lightening bolt or light bulb can convey your quicksilver mental processes. Eagles are also associated with the Water-bearer, thanks to this animal's ability to soar to great heights. Rare, exotic flowers like orchids are also symbolized by Aquarius. Greek mythological figures like Prometheus or Pandora would be good choices for Aquarians, as they embody your quest for knowledge. Contrasting colors like blue and orange, yellow and purple or green and red will work well in an Aquarian tattoo.

Pisces (Feb 19 - March 20)

Dreamy Pisces wants a tattoo that evokes fantasy. An image of a unicorn, sea serpent or mermaid may be fitting. Pisces is associated with fish, so a tattoo of this creature is favored. A picture of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, would also be a good choice for Water-sign Pisces. Similarly, water lilies are also linked to people who were born in late February or the first three weeks of March. You beach lovers may choose a picture of seashells, sea horses or ocean waves as body art. Dark, absorbing colors like indigo and black are appropriate for Piscean tattoos.
